New Medical Student Elective!

We are pleased to announce that we now offer a two week long elective in Prehospital Emergency Medicine, open to medical students who have completed their clerkship experience in Emergency Medicine. On the first day of the elective, students will participate in simulation and practical skills sessions to gain proficiency in EMS (Emergency Medical Services) specific assessments and interventions. Over the course of the two weeks, students will ride along on 911 calls, as well as join our crews on critical care interfacility transports. Additionally, students will spend several hours with our Suffolk County Medical Control Operators. On the final day, students will share a case presentation that describes a call they went on. For more information, please contact Dr Lauren Maloney, MD, NRP, FP-C, NCEE, at lauren.maloney@stonybrookmedicine.edu.
